Experienced, inexperienced, unfit, fit, skilled or not

ALL WELCOME!

Pre-season starts Thursday Feb 1st at 5:30/6pm. Gil Fraser Nth Fremantle
Bar will be open too

I stopped playing footy when I was 17, I hadn't played in 20 years, I wanted to play again but was a bit anxious. Phantoms was a good choice. Top club, good lads and the social side of things for me have been the best. Having a game every 2 weeks suits me with a young family

I was wanting to get back into footy after having 6 years off from playing amateurs. I thought I’d give it a crack. From the first pre-season training I felt at home and welcomed to the club. I have really enjoyed being back part of a footy club and for me hopefully still have a few more years in me. Love the club and my new team mates!!

I wanted an outlet to meet people, have a good time and get a little fitness in my life.  I found that and more.  A real welcoming group of people and players and a great time!

I'd say, if you're sitting on the fence, just give it a go. Once you're down here, you'll fit in and find some mates, plus you can have a kick and a beer. What's not to like abou that?

The last team sport I played was rugby union 20 years ago - this is what I found... A great club full of blokes that invited me and the rest of the new guys in and made us welcome.

Those like me who needed some coaching got it, and all slotted into the teams and found their places on the ground and in the club room.

Covid Update

As things stand at the time of writing this email, there are no restrictions on playing community sport in an outdoor setting. I.e. participants aren’t required to be double vaxxed. However, as per state government requirements, you are required to be double vaxxed to enter the club house and use the bar facilities etc. Masks are mandatory, as is checking in using the Safe WA app, unless you have a drink in hand and/or are eating a meal. As far as I understand you are not required to be seated, but there is a 1 person per 2 square meter rule.

We would like to set up a register that includes proof of vaccination, associated with a drivers license and a photo, so that we don’t have to check everyone every week, and if we get audited we are prepared. If you have an issue with this, or any other part of the covid requirements you can contact me either by email or by phone and in total confidence and we can see what can be done to alleviate your concerns.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a state government directive, not a Fremantle Phantoms, Masters WA or WAFC directive, and so I ask that you respect the terms, knowing that non-compliance by the club will affect our license and possibly the licenses of other tenants that use the facility.

Finally, if you are feeling unwell or experiencing flu like symptoms, or are waiting on a covid test result, please stay away from training, until you have a negative result or are free of symptoms. If you have been exposed and think you may have compromised the club please let me know ASAP so we can stay ahead of any issues this may cause.

Insurance:

All AFL Masters WA clubs are covered by Marsh insurance, including the Fremantle Phantoms.

This insurance provides limited coverage for on field injuries (excluding existing injuries) and also has coverage for TPD and death. Contact us for more information.

It is recommended by both club and league that players seek there own advice regarding personal and medical insurance to ensure their own specific circumstance is covered.

Culture & Conduct:

The Fremantle Phantoms & AFL Masters WA value the diversity of our game, players and sport. We expect all members, players, participants and supporters to share the same values of respect both on and off the field.

All are treated equal, irrespective of ability, skill or tenure.

Every game is an opportunity to have fun with all players recognising both good performance and endeavour, applauding the efforts of both teams and umpires.

We are "Footy For Kicks" and everything we do is with that motto in mind.
